I’ve been playing around with Fluid, the free site specific browser for Mac OS X Leopard, for a while now and recently came up with a really interesting way to browse hashtags.org. I’ll briefly cover the steps involved to browse hashtags.org using coverflow and fluid.

Coverflow and all...

The first step is to download and install Fluid (3.11mb). Once installed, go ahead and run the application. It will bring up a box that looks similar to this:

For the URL: http://hashtags.org Name: #hashtag Location: Applications Icon: Use this one. It is transparent, but flickr doesn’t support it.

Next hit create, and wait a sec while Fluid does it’s thing.

Once it’s done, go ahead and run the app and visit the preferences. At the bottom of the preferences window you will see the “Thumbnail” icon. Once you are in there you should see this:

Add a new URL Pattern by clicking on the + at the bottom.

You’ll want to use these values:

URL Pattern: http://*hashtags.org/ CSS Link: tbody tr td a.tag

Now, go ahead and exit out of the Preferences and in the main window, click on the top right button.

Then the coverflow button.

And you should see this:

Coverflow and all...
